This was my Second breakout and it was intense. There was a lot of information, which made it a little hard to process at times. But the information was really good.

The basics of the concept are that we need Dashboards in place to really be able to measure. Dashboards are things we put in place to measure what is important for us. (i.e Sunday Morning numbers or Small group retention)

Here are my Notes!!

If you cant measure it you cant manage it..

Why Bother?
- Assumption: we are willing to change
- Comparison is not bad if it is motivated by a desire to learn and grow!

Who Cares? Getting the right people involved
- Assumption: We value Accountability
- Establishing measurements must be a collaborative effort
- Ministry involvement offers the perspective of ownership
- Manager involvement offers the perspective of oversight

What am I supposed to do? Measuring the right things
- Assumption: We have effective systems in place
Qualitatively
- All measurements must be driven by out mission, vision, and strategy
- For each area of the organization measurements must be developed around a clear win and                 critical factors of success
 Quantitatively
- Our measurements must be accessible
- Our measurements must be collected systemactially
- A consistent frequency is critical to reliability
- The longer you collect data, the more helpful it becomes
- Only measure information on which you are prepared to act
- When possible and applicable, use ratios instead of raw numbers
- Ratios answer better questions

So what? What to do with what you measure
- Assumption: We have a culture that values trust over suspicion
- We do not make decisions on measurements alone
- Measurements are data points not determinants
- We do
- Open conversation
- start a explorations
- plan ahead
- Benchmark standards
- Celebrate Successes

My Take Away
To effectively manage you have to effectively measure!
