Yesterday was Easter. It is easily one of the busiest times of the year for our staff. This year we tried particularly hard to really make the service as creative as we possibly could. We were trying to convey one point. No matter what is in your past not matter what your stains may be that God can still make something beautiful out of your story!

We started planning this service months ago. The first mention of it that I remember of it was back in September. We wanted this to be our biggest and most focused Easter ever. To almost all accounts it was. It was a great day.

My point in all that is that I know the gospel is the gospel. And God is God! But to truly convey it all kinds of different people we need CREATIVITY! In today’s world simply standing up and reading the bible just wont communicate to every one. Especially those who know very little about this whole God thing. If we want to communicate in a manner that reaches them we have to be creative!!

3 things creativity does!!

Breaks down walls – a lot of times creativity speaks to people in a none threatening way! Videos, music, and other things that help create the experience in which they can see things in a new way.

It gives you collateral – it tells them on a level we may never understand that what we have to tell them matters. You cause people to perk up a little when it is more than evident there were a lot of resources devoted to getting the message across. People have a tendency to listen when it appears that what your saying matters to you!!

It creates excitement – excitement breed’s excitement. And when you put a lot of work and team effort into a project it generates some energy among the team and them teams circle of influence.
What would you add to this list??

Here is a video we shot. We were in a series called stained! The entire series we had folks right what they thought their stains were on a big canvas. We used that canvas to shoot this video!!
