Orange 11 Main Session 1 // Andy Stanley
8:10 PM
The fist session at Orange 11 was absolutely fantastic. I always
think they aren’t going to be able to ever top this next year, but once again
they have proved me wrong!! Tonight was an amazing worship experience as well
as a time where Andy really reminded us of how the local church matters and how
we what we do is so important.
The thought from his talk was a little abstract for the typical
way I would do notes so I am going to just share a little of what I took from
it.
Andy talked about how Christian morals have shaped more of our
culture than we can possibly imagine. To be honest the talk is such that it
would be really hard to fully break down in a blog. But I am going to give you
my notes any way and let you process through what struck me.
Jesus let us know that the last thing that he wanted us to know
is that the way people will know who we are is by the way we love. The early
church literally brought the end of the Roman Empire with the way the loved the
people around us.
The Bottom Line was we are stewards of the message of eternal
life and the message of a better life. Living a life of love is counter
intuitive, but when we do we are embracing a better life. We have the message
that empowers people to live a better life now and it empowers them to live out
their values not just talk about them.
It was a great talk. Stay tuned for
more post tomorrow!!
