Leaving a Legacy
1:44 PM
Not too long ago we lost a great man at oneChurch.tv! This
was a guy who showed the love of Christ in everything he did! He didn’t have a
lot of things. He gave up a lot of opportunities to be where he felt like God
called him to be! He was one of the more humble men that I had ever known. He
was constantly giving of himself! He rode a bike around town. Not because he
needed to. Because he chose to. He ran a campus ministry on the College in our
town. He was just a great guy and I was blessed to know him the little that I
did.
One of the things that astounded me about him was some of
the things they found when he died. Among those things where cards that they
found all over his house and desk with people he had prayed with and reached
out to. Or people that he had the opportunity to lead to Christ. The amount of
names was incredible.
It left me with one thought! He left an incredible Legacy.
It’s my hope that I live my life in such a way that it
leaves a legacy for my wife, my children, and the people that I come in contact
with!
When I step back and I look at Dino’s life I see 3 things
that leave a legacy and tell people who he really was what he stood for.
God was First – There
was no question in anyone’s mind that Dino had a passionate relationship with
Christ. He gave much of His life to making Christ name big! He lived in such
away that he never had to say a word. You just knew it!
Family was Second – Nothing
came between Dino and his family. He was crazy in love with his wife and loved
her like crazy. His kids absolutely adored him. I watched them love on him
after he got hurt and there was no doubt how much he meant to his kids. The way
his family rallied around him left no doubt that his family was right after his
relationship with God!
People were Third – I
truly believe that Dino would give everything he had away if asked to. Dino
lived a life engaged with people. He didn’t make judgments and he didn’t make
assumptions. He just took his call to love people as Jesus loves us very
seriously and it was evident in his life!
Dino’s priorities were right on and that was evident in the
way he lived his life.
He left a powerful Legacy to be remembered by. What will
your Legacy be??
