Welcome to the Monday Minute. This is a weekly segment on my Blog where I post a short thought on Random things. Maybe a resource or maybe something I have experienced in the last week.

So if you know anything about me or you read my posts on a regular basis then you know that I love love love Patrick Lencioni (for more about him go HERE) and his books. I have yet to read one that doest not challenge me and make me better if I apply what is in the book.  I have done reviews on his other books HERE and HERE!

The 4 obsessions of an Extraordinary CEO is no exception. This was a great book for any leader that leads teams to read and process through with his/her team. I refuse to ruin the book for you by telling you what the 4 obsessions are. But here are 3 reasons you and/or your team will love this book.

Stories Rock – I love a good story. I can totally get lost in one. And it helps me process when a story is used as an example or as an intro to a big point. That is what this book does. It tells you a story so that you can process through is with the characters in the book. Lencioni is a master of creating this tension and sucking you into the flow of the story.

The Model – At the end of all of his books he clearly lays out the model for what you have just read. He doesn’t just tell you a story and then wrap it up. He really breaks down the process of what you just saw unfold. He will give you actionable steps to process through with you team and direct questions for you to ask yourself and your team.

Its Simple – I have yet to read one of Lencionis books and walk away feeling like I could not apply what I read. Now don’t misunderstand me, it will take work and it will take time. But the concepts are easy to understand and the steps are relatively obvious.

You can find this book all over Amazon or at any bookstore.
