I normally wouldn’t blog about this until I was completely ready to dialogue about it, but in this case I think it would be interesting to create some dialogue about it.

Francis Chan made a statement tonight that I simply cannot get out of my head. He posed such an intense question that I will be processing through it for months. He asked us if we lead and live in such a way that is congruent to the New Testament of the bible. Would our lives naturally transition into the flow and conversation of the New Testament?

The undertones of what he said are what have got my brain going 400 miles an hour. Do we live in such a way that we are dependant on God? Or can our entire lives be explained by our on capabilities? Are there things in our lives that are hindering our prayers from being heard by God? This is such an incredible tension to process through. Because I think there has to be a balance there. Maybe not a clear and definable balance, but I think there is one. I need some of you to help process through what that is. What do you think?

Francis also painted a picture of things in our past that make us ashamed to be humans. He used some incredible examples. (i.e. the holocaust, or slavery) The other question he posed is “are we going to look back on the way we do church now and be ashamed?” WOW!! I have never even thought of that.

Ok guys!! Don’t leave me hanging. Let me hear some feedback on this one!!
